Method
- Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente.
- Save about ½ cup pasta water before draining.
- In a pan, melt the butter with olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the cooked pasta directly to the pan.
- Pour in a little pasta water and add parmesan gradually while tossing everything together.
- Keep stirring until the sauce becomes glossy and creamy.
- Add fresh basil, black pepper, and extra parmesan on top before serving.
Add extra pasta water if needed for a silkier sauce
Finish with a small knob of butter for extra shine
